Work Packages

WP 1. Preparation of superhydrophobic non-stick coatings

Objective: To prepare fluoropolymer-based non-stick coatings with water-repellent properties by changing their topography features and/or sintering temperature.

WP 2. Characterization of superhydrophobic non-stick coatings

Objective: To characterize the topography, thickness loss, hardness and wetting properties (tensile and shear adhesions) of the superhydrophobic non-stick coatings.

WP 3. Industrial scale-up of superhydrophobic non-stick coatings

Objective: Testing superhydrophobic non-stick coatings under realistic conditions (heat ageing, dry-egg test). Fabrication of large pieces (moulding, trays) of superhydrophobic non-stick coatings and to validate their use for baking applications.

WP 4. Fabrication of prototype with technical standard for the evaluation of release properties of industrial non-stick coatings

Objective: Design and fabrication of an apparatus to measure the critical sliding angle of water sessile drops on industrial non-stick coatings. To write out a technical standard for the use of the prototype.

M1: Validation of superhydrophobic non-stick coatings at laboratory scale (proof of concept)

M2: Validation of superhydrophobic non-stick coatings at industrial scale

M3: Validation of prototype for the evaluation of release properties of industrial non-stick coatings

M4: Validation of technical standard for the evaluation of release properties of industrial non-stick coatings
